Day 15: into Belgium

Change of author for today…

France to Minicamping 't Veld, in Belgium

We all awoke (satisfyingly) to a sunny warm morning in France. Our three night stay has been very pleasant, especially yesterday with Sunder's head gasket being replaced.

Our lovely Trip Advisor Wendy (decided) 😉suggested we head near Brugge.

We dutifully set off, but not before the camp owner came to see us off, gave us souvenir pens and complimented our camp.

As the temperature hit 30C, Sunder was showing no sign of her poor performance BHG (before Head Gasket). More power and temperature normal!

Yesterday, Theo gave us a small gift as we completed the work on Sunder. A bottle of beer, only to be opened  when, not if, another breakdown occurred.

Little did we know...

Arriving at the Belgian border, the road surface changed dramatically. For worse. Shake, rattle and roll, combined with her being manhandled for hours yesterday took their toll.

Patrick informed Stephen his exhaust had drooped.

In fact, it had broken behind the silencer. Ouch!

So Patrick and his assistant Wendy ably remedied the fall and detached the rear section. A didgeridoo was born. The high now resides in the back of Buddy

Lucy had had enough…

Soon after, we safely arrived at out lovely Belgian mini-camp.

Time to break open the bottle Theo had supplied. It had only lasted one day!

We were sad to drink it..

Sad photo

...but happy Sunder was still running.

Lucy did try to steal Steve’s beer while he nodded off briefly… she failed

There followed a picnic tea and a walk in the glorious evening sun.

To Brugge the morra

… now you know who the author was today!!!
