Day 13: campsite lazy day
We were mostly tired and it was raining so while we tried to contact various people about Sunder’s engine we used Martyn’s electric toaster to have breakfast of brioche and whatever. There was a Vegemite/ Marmite fight and Steve demonstrated his weird taste of butter, Vegemite then crunchy peanut butter…
Kevin tested out his Father’s Day present of toaster-safe tongs..
Patrick rigged up a tarpaulin shelter across the back of the three Carawagons which meant we could change our view from the side of the Hymer for a change
Wendy had gone rogue with Buddy parking behind all the others who were nicely in line
Wendy and Patrick had a fight with an umbrella…
Patrick gave Wendy a cushion for her bench which then meant her legs didn’t reach the floor so she then put on some wedges….
Wendy started crocheting then got ‘roped’ into bungee-making duties…
Anyone would think by this commentary we had not actually planned anything to do today… except get hold of someone who would help with Sunder
And so the day continued .. Relaxing and basically doing nothing - a well-deserved rest for all
Steve whittled a couple of door lock chicks based on Patrick’s design
Steve then said that Sebastien from Robin’s Facebook friends and the S2C club historically has come up trumps with finding a new gasket and a workshop that can be used to repair Sunder tomorrow
So the plan is to go and collect the part tomorrow and then get it fixed in the afternoon…
Wendy cooked jacket potatoes in the Cadac - that was a first!
The evening ended with chatting under the tarpaulin as the weather got colder again.

The wine must be very good indeed today.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a cracking day. Good news about my old mate Sunder. Mountain Mike.
